Guided Mental Well-being Walks with Horses
Join us for our fortnightly walks along the Camel trail with some of our horses from Equine-Connect. These guided walks are a perfect opportunity to; meet new people or make new friends, get outdoors/be active, have the space or freedom to talk in an open, welcoming environment and meet spend time with our beautiful horses. Throughout the walks we will be talking to individuals and the group to explore mental well-being and create a positive community for everyone to share- you are welcomed/ encouraged to participate in group or 1-2-1 discussions, but at no point will you be made to talk about anything you do not wish too.
Our Walks will start at Shell Woods carpark we will walk along the Camel trail until we get to the Wenford Bridge carpark, here we will stop for some light refreshments before returning to Shell Woods.
The walk is relatively flat and accessible for everyone. It will take approximately 45 minutes to walk from our start point to the halfway marker. We estimate the entirety of the walk will take approixmately 2 hours.
The cost is per person and includes a refreshment drink and small snack (biscuit/cake/crisps/ fruit etc), the remaining costs are partly funded.
If you would like to join but are anxious about being around horses, please still feel welcomed to join us. There is no requirement for you to interact with the horses, but they are should anyone wish too. Science has proved that many people feel more relaxed and less stressed around animals, so of course we want to include our equine friends.
Please Note; This DOES NOT including any horse riding!
The horses are there for companionship ONLY!
Equine-Connect is first aid trained for both humans and horses.
